Mercedes-Benz of Knoxville Service Department Client Care Center

In a continuing effort to refine and fine tune each service visit from our clients, we have created the Client Care Center to better assist our Service Advisors’ ability to work in conjunction with their clients. It is staffed with highly trained individuals, whose main objective is to expedite your service process. The Client Care Center is here to assist you with the following:

  • Scheduling Service Appointments
  • Scheduling Courtesy Shuttle Ride to and from Work or Home
  • Reserving Loaner Vehicles and/or Scheduling Rental Cars during Service Visit*
  • Checking the Status of Repairs
  • Monitoring the Status of Special Ordered Parts

We have two very comfortable waiting lounges with Satellite TV and wireless internet connection for short service visits. We also have a courtesy shuttle to transport customers to and from shopping centers, home, or the office.

*If a loaner or rental car is needed, we are required by our insurance provider that the driver of each vehicle be at least 21 years of age, have a current valid driver’s license and current valid insurance card with proof of full coverage insurance. To make your visit as efficient and smooth as possible, we ask that you check the expiration dates on these documents prior to your visit.

Vehicle Maintenance


In keeping with our commitment to customer satisfaction, our service department has prepared the following overview of the factory maintenance schedule. With the new warranty in effect today, it has become increasingly important to keep your vehicle properly maintained. Having your vehicle serviced regularly is the best way to enjoy many miles of worry-free driving in the years ahead. Thank you for choosing our dealership. If you have any questions regarding the maintenance of your vehicle, please give us a call.

THE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM-A SERVICE

Due at 10,000 to 13,000 miles or One Year

  • Perform function check of all warning/indicator lamps, illumination, and exterior lighting
  • Perform function check of windshield wiper/washer system, including rear wiper and headlight cleaning system, if equipped
  • Inspect brake lining thickness
  • Function test brake system and adjust parking brake if needed
  • Check tire condition and report damage
  • Check and correct all fluid levels
  • Engine oil and filter change with Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil
  • Perform visual inspection for leaks
  • Of equipped, check and replenish battery acid level – battery, wet cell
  • Check battery condition using “Midtronics MCR 717” tester
  • Check catc, safety catch, and hinges of hood for proper operation
  • If equipped with Panoramic sliding roof, clean and lubricate guide mechanism
  • Vacuum interior of vehicle
  • Wash exterior

SL-Class

  • Check SBC hydraulic unit
  • Check TIREFIT tire sealant expiration date

E-Class

  • Check SBC hydraulic unit
  • Check auxiliary battery condition using “Midtronics MCR 717” tester

THE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM-B SERVICE

Due at 20,000 to 26,000 miles or Two Years

  • Perform function check of all warning /indicator lamps, illumination, and exterior lighting
  • Perform function check of windshield wiper/washer system, including rear wiper and headlight cleaning system, if equipped
  • Inspect brake lining thickness
  • Function test brake system and adjust parking brake if needed
  • Check tire condition and report damage
  • Check and adjust tire pressure, including spare
  • Measure tread depth on all tires
  • Check and correct all fluid levels
  • Engine oil and filter change with Mobile 1 Synthetic Oil
  • Perform visual inspection for leaks
  • Install BG 44K fuel system cleaner
  • Check body for paint damage
  • Function test throttle cable
  • Replace dust filter
  • Perform brake fluid flush
  • Check all seat belts for damage and proper function
  • Check power steering system
  • Check condition of front and rear axle ball joints and rubber boots
  • Inspect chassis and supporting body parts for damage and corrosion
  • Id equipped, check and replenish battery acid level – battery, wet cell
  • Check battery condition using “Midtronics MCR 717” tester
  • Check catch, safety catch, and hinges of hood for proper operation
  • If equipped with Panoramic sliding roof, clean and lubricate guide mechanism
  • Vacuum interior of vehicle
  • Wash exterior

SL-Class

  • Check SBC hydraulic unit

After Hours Drop-Off

 

You can drop off your vehicle any time, even when we’re not open. For your convenience, our after hours drop-off is located at the East entrance to our property near West Side Honda. For drop-off instructions simply contact our Client Care Center.

 

Alternate Transportation

 

Because you are a valued customer, we make leaving your vehicle for service as convenient as possible. If you need alternate transportation, our Client Care Center will help you make the proper arrangements. This could include shuttle service, taxi service or a loaner car. That way, you won’t have to worry about how to get around while we service your vehicle. To ensure that a loaner car is available for your use, please consider the following:

 

  • If possible, call one week ahead to reserve a loaner car. Loaner cars are assigned in the order they are received
  • Please present your valid driver’s license and current auto insurance documents when you come in for your scheduled service
  • Our loaner fleet is supplemented at times by rental cars

 

Please replace any fuel you use when you return your loaner car.
